Ana De Orbegoso Paris in Oaxaca, 2009 from the series You Are Here/Te Encuentras Aquí Archival Inkjet Print New York I am a Peruvian born New York based interdisciplinary artist. While photography is my primary tool, I often use additional mediums, such as video, sculpture, painting, and installations. For as long as I can remember I have perceived the human condition visually, then, imagery is my natural mode of communication. My primary fascination is with identity, both in the individual and in societal contexts, and my work explores these issues through the use of popular iconography and staged situations. My aim is to confront the viewer with a mirror, so as to spark recognition, thought and memory. The "You Are Here" project is a juxtaposition of realities made by public space interventions.
