Carol Fonde grew up on the North Shore of Long Island and began photographing the land and seascape at the age of seven. She graduated with honors from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and received the Ford Foundation Fellowship For The Visual Arts to attend The University of Indiana where she received her MFA in photography. She has lived and worked as a professional photographer and color printer in NYC since 1980.
Fonde is recognized across the U.S. as a master in the field of color reproduction. Her clients include Richard Avedon, Hiro, Annie Liebovitz, and Magnum photographers, such as Gilles Peress and Bruce Davidson. She is currently teaching at Parson's School of Design.
