In addition to spending a month here at LW/CD in 1982, Hearne was awarded an NEA Photographers Fellowship in 1974. In 1979-80, he worked on the Baja Project for the California Historical Society, also funded by the NEA. Hearne has exhibited his work extensively here and abroad. His photographs are represented in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art in NY and the Fogg Art Museum, among others.
