Catherine Marino is an artist, curator, and educator. Born in Los Angeles, California, Marino developed a strong interest in exploring topics on cultural diversity and feminism. Her photography, writing, and curation focus on gender roles, gender politics, and institutional power structures related to image making and media with the intention of further establishing women’s voice in the field of photography. Marino cocurated one of the first all women exhibitions at the Center for Creative Photography and is a recipient of the Women International Leadership Institute Award, among others. Currently Marino is located in San Francisco, California at The Museum of the African Diaspora.
