Bill Owens is a self-taught photographer who worked for nine years as a news photographer in Livermore, CA, the subject of his first book. He followed the highly successful 'Suburbia' with three additional books,
'Our Kind of People'(1975), 'Working I Do It For The Money'(1977) and 'Documentary Photography, A Personal View'(1978).
Says Owens, 'The heart of photography is the documentary image.....The challenge to the documentary photographer is the highest...'
