Paul Trapido (Ginsberg)

While in Syracuse, Paul Ginsberg plans to spend most of his time photographing in the downtown area. This represents a shift in direction for him; his earlier photographs were large-camera still lifes of natural entanglements, patches of weeds, roots and branches reminiscent of Alfred Stieglitz' work at Lake George, N.Y. He plans to use the large format camera to make structurally similar urban photographs.

Ginsberg's work was exhibited quite recently at the International Museum of Photography (George Eastman House) in their contemporary landscape show. He has also shown at Light Gallery, N.Y., at the Chicago Center for Contemporary Photography and at our own gallery. He is a graduate of Visual Studies Workshop and has taught at Apeiron Workshops and Colorado Mountain College.
