Biography

Morgan Ford Willingham is a photographic artist and educator. After receiving a MFA in photography from Texas Woman’s University, she moved to the Midwest to pursue a career in academia and art making. Morgan’s work examines the various historical and contemporaneous ways in which identity is shaped by external influences through the use of various mediums, including photography, book arts, and installation. Her work has been widely exhibited, including Humble Arts Gallery in NYC, Filter Photo in Chicago, and the Hite Institute of Art in Louisville, KY. Curator and artist Deborah Willis selected her for En Foco’s New Works Photography Award #12.

Essays

Recently faced with a new place, a new region, a new life, I find myself fabricating short narratives about the experiences of living in another time when encountering objects and places.
